When a standard 82 ° flat head stands too tall for thin sheet-metal or shallow countersinks, switch to #12-24 Phillips Flat-Undercut Thread-Cutting Screws. The undercut design removes much of the head cone so you gain extra thread engagement while keeping a perfectly flush surface. Heat-treated carbon steel receives a brilliant bright-zinc electroplate, is hydrogen-relief baked to IFI spec, and finished with a factory dry-wax film for smooth, repeatable drive torque. A Type F fluted point taps clean internal threads in a pre-drilled or punched hole; chips clear through the flute—no nut required.
