When a standard 82° flat head is too tall for thin sheet-metal or shallow countersinks, reach for 3/8″-16 Phillips Flat-Undercut Thread-Cutting Screws. The special undercut profile removes 70 % of the head cone, giving you extra thread engagement without sacrificing flush seating. Heat-treated carbon-steel blanks receive a brilliant bright-zinc electro-plate, are hydrogen-relief baked, and finished with a factory dry-wax film for reliably low drive torque. A Type F fluted point taps clean internal threads in a pre-drilled or punched hole; chips clear through the flute—no nut required.
