Heat-treated carbon-steel blanks carry a lustrous bright-zinc electro-plate, are hydrogen-relief baked, then factory dry-waxed for reliably low drive torque. The captive washer flange spreads load, while the Type F fluted point taps mating threads in a pre-drilled or punched hole—chips clear through the flute, and no nut is required.
