When standard 82° flat heads leave too little thread in thin sheet-metal or shallow countersinks, upgrade to #6-32 Phillips Flat-Undercut Thread-Cutting Screws. The undercut profile trims most of the head cone, giving you maximum thread engagement while finishing perfectly flush. Heat-treated carbon steel wears a resilient black-oxide conversion coat, sealed with oil and a factory dry-wax film for ultra-low, repeatable seating torque. A Type F fluted point taps clean internal threads in a pre-drilled or punched hole; chips clear through the flute—no nut required.
